Erin Goldin:

"The Biggest Little Moments That Have Shaped My Journey"

thumbnail_goldin22.jpg

Erin Goldin is the Director of the University Writing Center at University of California, Merced. She has worked in writing centers and writing classrooms for over 20 years; she started as an undergraduate writing consultant at Sonoma State University while completing her BA in Creative Writing. Her experience working as a consultant led her to switch paths, leading her to an MA in Rhetoric and Composition from Colorado State University (where she worked in the Writing Center) and a PhD in Rhetoric and Composition from the University of Nevada, Reno (where she also worked in the Writing Center).

Erin sees writing centers as one small, but important, part of students' ongoing development–as writers, as students, and as human beings. Her own story is, like any process, full of drafts and revisions and feedback–and multiple “little” but transformative events. She is excited to be returning to Reno to share some of the biggest little moments that shaped her journey, from presenting as an undergraduate consultant at NCWCA to presenting with her undergraduate consultants at NCWCA.
